Hey everyone,
First of all, we are humbled by your warm responses to the announcement of our book coming out August 2, 2022. We have been overwhelmed by the kind words of encouragement and the excitement for How To Navigate Life.
We wrote the book because we noticed a huge gap in parenting/education: young people are under immense pressure to succeed. They are told exactly what to do (Get good grades! Captain the soccer team! Start a non profit!), yet they are never taught how to decide for themselves who they want to become and in what direction they want their life to go.
That’s what our book is about: providing the tools to figure out what you want and how to pursue it.
When we share this summary with parents, educators, mentors, or colleagues, we often get this response:
“I wish something like this was around when I was growing up”.
That’s why we are excited to announce that we’re launching a How To Navigate course for students and their families. It will be offered through a new Cohort Based Courses platform that we are really excited about and that is associated with some very inspiring people (e.g., the former co-founder of Udemy). Unlike a lot of other online courses that are pre-recorded, the power of cultivating purpose lies in building community. So, we are going to teach this course live. This allows you to directly connect with us, and with fellow parents and students. We will be offering a major discounted cost of $500 for the first small cohort of students and families..
Here’s what to expect in the course:
Using an engaging and interactive approach, we will lead a group of parents and students through the principles of purpose covered in our book.
Participants will learn what these principles are, why they’re important.
Each participant will be supported to identify their own purpose.
Participants will gain access to our evidence-based assessments that will help them identify five elements of purpose.
By the end of the course, each parent and student participant will be able to articulate what’s personally meaningful to them, what impact they want to make in the world, and some ways they can live this purpose in school, work, and life.
If you are potentially interested in the course, please fill out this short form. Filling out the form does not mean you are committed to taking it - it merely helps us plan for how to make this course as impactful as possible.
Because this is a cohort-based course we have very limited spots for families and students. We are sharing it here first because of how appreciative we are of this community who has supported us from the beginning!
People who fill out the form will have the first opportunity to join the course when it opens. They will also have access to Belle and Tim and also will help shape the direction of the course to ensure that it is as informative, helpful, and fun, as possible!
If you have any questions, ideas, or comments for us, merely reply to this email!
Be on the lookout for more resources coming your way soon.
Warmly,
Belle & Tim
